Kevin is an investment advisor representative registered in the State of New York, CFP® certificant, Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and the founder of Hegarty Advisors, LLC. Kevin helps clients by providing independent, fee only advice. His specialization includes investing for retirement, tax minimization, insurance coverage, college savings, retirement spending, managing employee benefits and advice on major financial expenditures.

Before starting Hegarty Advisors, Kevin provided financial advice and consulting services for almost twenty years. He started his professional career as a management consultant at PRTM (bought by PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he consulted with Fortune 500 Corporations, the Office of Secretary of Defense, and the U.S. intelligence community including the National Reconnaissance Office and Central Intelligence Agency given his Top Secret Clearance. After management consulting, he advised institutional equity investors at Deutsche Bank for over a decade. He was promoted to Managing Director in less than ten years and was the Head of New York Sales before leaving for UBS. At UBS, he held multiple roles including the Head of New York Advisory with responsibility for specialty sales, corporate access, domestic and international sales in New York. As an equity sales manager and a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder at Deutsche Bank and UBS, he provided advice to the largest money managers in the world and helped bring dozens of companies to the public markets including GM, Alibaba, Hilton, FitBit, and Avago.

Prior to Consulting, Kevin served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Infantry branch. As an Airborne Ranger qualified officer, he held multiple leadership positions with the 1st Battalion, 8th Regiment of the 4th Infantry Division and the 3rd Infantry Regiment (Old Guard). While in the Old Guard, he was selected for the additional duty of a White House Military Social Aide for President George W. Bush.

Kevin was commissioned into the United States Army upon graduating the United States Military Academy. At West Point, he was the captain of the lacrosse team earning All Patriot League honors for three years, and was selected to play in the North-South College All Star Game. Kevin also earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and passed the Series 7, 24, and 63 exams.

Kevin and wife Heather reside in Garden City, New York with their five children. Kevin is an active member of the community and St. Joseph’s Church.  Kevin is a founder and president of Tradition Lacrosse. Tradition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, managed and led by unpaid community volunteers to develop girls' character playing lacrosse. Kevin has coached multiple teams for many years including Tradition Lacrosse, Garden City Rams Lacrosse, Garden City Thunder Football and Garden City Centennials Soccer. Kevin enjoys running, exercising, skiing, and golfing in his free time.  Kevin finished Ironman Maryland and multiple marathons. 

Kevin is proud to be a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Financial Planning Association (FPA); and the Garrett Planning Network (GPN), an international affiliation of independent, fee-only financial planners dedicated to making competent, objective advice accessible to all people.


Brian Hegarty is an investment advisor representative registered in the State of New York. Brian provides independent, fee only advice. As a fiduciary he specializes in helping people invest for retirement, tax minimization, insurance coverage, college savings, retirement spending, managing employee benefits and advice on major financial decisions. 

Before joining his brother Kevin at Hegarty Advisors, Brian had a fulfilling 30 year career in the financial markets.  As an Equity Sales Trader and Trader Brian provided coverage and advice for dozens of the largest financial institutions in the world.  Brian started his career in Public Accounting before transitioning to institutional finance monitoring risk for trading desks across asset classes at Bankers Trust Company.  After several years Brian left for a career directly engaging clients and the markets at Barclays Bank’s BZW Securities as an International Sales Trader.  In this role, Brian   offered advice and executed transactions across Europe and Asia.   When BZW was purchased by Credit Suisse First Boston in 1996, Brian transitioned to focus on U.S. Markets and institutions. Over the course of his approximately 20 years at Credit Suisse Brian built expertise in consulting clients on small and mid cap equities.   Under Brian’s leadership Credit Suisse built an industry leading Small Cap franchise.  Working closely with the Capital Markets team, Brian was instrumental in bringing many of the leading growth companies of the past few decades to public markets.  Over the course of his career Brian has experienced first hand all sorts of market environments, from long bull runs to market tumult.  Brian provided guidance to clients during the dotcom bubble, the Great Financial Crisis,  the Pandemic and other historic market events.  These events have given Brian a great appreciation for positioning according to your appropriate risk levels and the appreciation of a long term perspective of markets.

Prior to his career in finance, Brian graduated Loyola University in Baltimore Maryland with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting.  While at Loyola Brian ran Cross Country competing against the nations top runners and experimented with a few seasons on the Rugby team.

Brian and his wife Beverly reside in Garden City where they raised three daughters.   Their daughters are currently studying at Georgetown and High Point Universities.  Their oldest recently graduated from The University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce.  Brian and Beverly have deep roots in Garden City where they were High School Sweethearts and Beverly currently teaches Fifth Grade at Garden City’s Stewart School.  Brian and Beverly are active members of their community in both Garden City and Breezy Point where they engage  in civic and social organizations and have volunteered and coached for many youth activities over the years.
